Step Up’s founder and owner, Amie Houser, has been a “dance mom” for over nine years and often found herself in the sticky situation of being unable to find well-fitting dancewear for her daughter. Armed with only a “scavenger hunt”-style shopping list for the season’s dance clothes, Amie took her search online, where she was met with the daunting task of having to do European size conversions on the fly. She quickly realized that what our industry needed was a friendly, local dance supply store where everyone felt welcome, and everyone could find their perfect fit.
